This year, FBC Headland is engaging in several mission opportunities both here in Headland and places outside the Wiregrass. I want to encourage you to find a way to be involved in any of these that you are able to. I’ve seen some amazing ways God has used His people as they’ve taken this call seriously. I’ve seen 6 year old’s introduce their friends to Jesus, college students partner with missionaries to start orphan care ministries, families all serve at VBS together, senior adults take their first mission trip, and so much more! God can use anyone if they just say yes to Him.
I specifically wanted to draw attention to the two summer student trips for just a minute. Our middle school group is going to Mobile, AL for M-FUGE which is both a summer camp and a mission opportunity. After that our high school group will be heading to Memphis, TN to partner with Street Reach Ministries and do a handful of different mission projects while there. Even though these trips are still several months away, preparations for them have already begun.
I would invite you to join with us in that preparation, and the best way you can do that is to pray for us! Prayer is powerful, and things change because people pray. So please pray for these mission trips. Pray for those who will be going on the trips that our hearts will be prepared and focused to not only to the work but also that we be receptive to what God wants to do in our lives. Pray for those we will be serving that God will impact and change their hearts for Him. Pray for the on-going ministries that we’ll be supporting that they be encouraged by the teams coming to help them this summer and that they continue to serve well in the communities where God has placed them. Finally, please pray over both the student trips and all the mission opportunities of 2024 that they be fantastic, fun-filled, lesson teaching, God honoring missions. I’m so excited to see what God does in the lives of those who go, those who are served, and in our church as a whole this year because of our yes to God’s call to go!
